Change to Half Day Kindergarten Schedule related to Delayed Start Days
  Dear Half-Day Kindergarten Parents,

In an effort to provide more instructional time for our half day kindergarten students, we will be shifting half day kindergarten start and end times whenever we have a delayed start due to inclement weather.  When a delayed start is announced, half day kindergarten students will begin their day with all elementary students at 10:45 a.m.  If students are bus riders, they will continue to ride the bus in the morning as normal.  On delayed start days, half day kindergarten students will end their day at 2:00 p.m.  Lunch will not be provided; therefore, students will need to bring a substantial snack.  Parents will need to pick up kindergarten students at 2:00 p.m. and provide transportation home.  We hope this altered schedule will provide you with an option that works for your family.

Kindergarten Registration
   2015-2016 KINDERGARTEN REGISTRATION HAS BEGUN!

Stewardship Station:

Please remember, we are always collecting the following at Prairie Winds:
  • Variety of empty food wrappers, drink pouches, glue sticks & bottles, writing instruments and ziplock bags for the TerraCycle program sponsored by Mrs. Shindel’s and Mrs. Jones’ 4th grade classes.
  • Used/broken small electronics, laptops & inkjet/toner cartridges for the EcoBuddies program sponsored by Mrs. Martinez’, Mrs. Saccuman’s and Mrs. Skabo’s 5th grade classes.
  • Old batteries: keeps these dangerous items out of our landfills.
  • Children’s books!  Bring a book, take a book at the Little Lending Library in the Commons area.  A great way to pass along all of those books you have outgrown to a new reader.
Please feel free to collect items at home, and drop them off at the front office, or send in anytime with your child.    Thank you for helping support our students in their commitment to being good stewards of the planet.

If you need any additional information regarding our collection programs, please contact the front office, or look in the information rack outside the office.

How wonderful it is that nobody need wait a single moment before starting to improve the world.
