ImagePrairie Winds Elementary School is hosting its annual Science/Mathematics Fair on Friday, February 27th, to help stimulate your child's interest in the physical sciences.  Students will design and test their science projects in the weeks leading up to this exciting event, and then display their work at the fair for their peers, teachers, parents and guests.  This should be a fun, educational event, and we encourage all students, K - 6th, regardless of their grade or abilities to participate.  Please click on the following links for more detailed Information and Parental Permission Slip.

Stewardship Station:

Please remember, we are always collecting the following at Prairie Winds:
  • Variety of empty food wrappers, drink pouches, glue sticks & bottles, writing instruments and ziplock bags for the TerraCycle program sponsored by Mrs. Shindel’s and Mrs. Jones’ 4th grade classes.
  • Used/broken small electronics, laptops & inkjet/toner cartridges for the EcoBuddies program sponsored by Mrs. Martinez’, Mrs. Saccuman’s and Mrs. Skabo’s 5th grade classes.
  • Old batteries: keeps these dangerous items out of our landfills.
  • Children’s books!  Bring a book, take a book at the Little Lending Library in the Commons area.  A great way to pass along all of those books you have outgrown to a new reader.
Please feel free to collect items at home, and drop them off at the front office, or send in anytime with your child.    Thank you for helping support our students in their commitment to being good stewards of the planet.

If you need any additional information regarding our collection programs, please contact the front office, or look in the information rack outside the office.
